Janet Day, CPA
Prior to joining the Office of the City Auditor in 2006, Deputy City Auditor Janet Day served for eight years in the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, in the positions of Finance Officer and Manager of Business Operations. Previous to joining the Parks Department in 1999, Janet was on the staff of the City Auditor’s Office. She has over 11 years of audit experience.
Janet holds two bachelor’s degrees from California State University, Long Beach; one with an emphasis in Accounting and another in Business Computer Methods. Additionally, she has completed professional coursework towards a Masters in Public Administration. Janet holds a Certified Public Accountant certificate in California. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA), Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). She is currently serving as the 2009 Program Chair for the Beach Cities Chapter of the IIA.
