Carolyn P. Phu began her service in the City Auditor's Office as a Staff Auditor in 2007. She has contributed to numerous audits including the Long Beach Development Services Cashiering Audit, an audit of Proposition H funds and inventory audits of the Long Beach Museum of Art and the Queen Mary. Prior to working for the City Auditor's Office, she worked in public accounting where she gained experience in small business accounting and new business formations.

Carolyn is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in Educational Studies. She also earned an Associates degree in Accounting at Irvine Valley College. She is currently a member of the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
