For more than 100 years, the residents of Long Beach have elected a City Auditor to protect their interests. As an elected official, the City Auditor is able to act as an Independent Watchdog to ensure that public funds are being spent effectively, correctly and responsibility.
The City Auditor is responsible for keeping Long Beach's city government transparent and accountable. The office provides independent assurance that public funds are spent appropriately and effectively, and makes recommendations for cutting spending to lower costs. The office is also responsible for ensuring that all potential revenue is identified and paid to the city.
The primary responsibility of the office is to provide accurate information to the public and city officials. As your elected City Auditor Laura Doud welcomes and encourages ideas, suggestions and comments from you about finding or saving money for the City of Long Beach. Please email her at Auditor@longbeach.gov.
